Punk rock originated in the 1974 as a dissonant, underground uprising against mainstream music charted by the number or sales. Rock ensambles like Sex Pistols, Iggy Pop, and Rancid helped bring punk back in the mid-1990's. This time the mesh of speedy, naive rock music with melodic pop melodies stayed on the MTV. These days, self-styled punk pop is the main piece of puzzle in the sphere of mainstream pop music. These ten record albums are the best starting points to get closer to pop punk.

1. blink-182 - Enema of the State

In blink-182's endless attempt to offend any grown ups in the neighbourhood, that record album featured a girl dressed as an enema au pair girl on the cover. The music on the record is teenage and catchy with the monumental hit song “All the Small Things.”

2. The Donnas - Spend the Night

3. Good Charlotte - Young and the Hopeless

A band from Maryland Good Charlotte got into the top ten of the pop album chart with this set. It's full with tales of high school and difficult mothers. The big hit track is “Girls & Boys.”

4. Green Day - American Idiot

After retreating from their mid-90's peak of popularity, Green Day retreated to the studio to mix punk's 1st rock opera. Although the popular punk band was nervous about their fanclub's attitude to Jesus of Suburbia, it to be a UK rock classic climbing several charts and gaining a Grammy award for Best Rock Album of two thousand and four.

5. The Lemonheads - Ceiling Fan in My Spoon
